On October 28, 2025, Ms. Onfah Vejjajiva, Secretary-General of the National Economic and Social Development Council, co-chaired with Ms. Pinsuda Chainam, Director-General of the Department of International Organizations, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Ms. Michaela Friberg-Storey, United Nations Resident Coordinator (UNRC) for Thailand, in the Tripartite Steering Committee Meeting to consider the draft outcomes of the new United Nations Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (UNSDCF) 2027-2031 for the United Nations Country Team (UNCT) in Thailand at the Office of the National Economic and Social Development Council.

The UNCT representatives presented draft outcomes in three areas: Outcome 1 focuses on ensuring equal acce    ss to social and economic opportunities for all people through strengthening social protection systems, decent employment, and sustainable lifelong learning, as well as developing health systems to respond to demographic changes and promoting inclusive humanitarian assistance. Outcome 2 promotes climate-friendly economic opportunities, lifestyles, and energy, while driving gender-responsive and human rights-based policies and budgets, strengthening community participation, and promoting sustainable development investments. Outcome 3 develops the capacity of state institutions, citizens, and all sectors for meaningful participation, promotes regional and international cooperation in addressing cross-border challenges, and strengthens accessible justice processes and human rights protection mechanisms in accordance with the rule of law. Views were exchanged regarding these outcomes to support development initiatives aligned with the draft concept of the 14th National Economic and Social Development Plan.

In this regard, the UNCT is scheduled to hold stakeholder consultations in mid-November 2025 to gather input and opinions for improving the UNSDCF and promoting balanced progress in sustainable development across all dimensions. The NESDC, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and UNCT will continue to discuss ways to build upon projects under the current UNSDCF framework.
